I'm not sure if this is working or not. I am Don and I have been metal detecting since 1998. My wife asked me what I wanted for Christmas that year. I gave my usual reply. Can't think of a thing. She suggested getting me a metal detector. I was reluctant but decided that would be fine for Christmas. Little did she know that I would be logging about 20 hours a week prior to retirement and well now I can do it full time.

Some of the metal detector companies will tell you that half of all of the coins minted in the US have been lost either in the ground or in the water. I think they may be right. However I think 90% of the pennies have been lost There are pennies everywhere. Some in our club do not dig pennies, but I do. It is not a compete day metal detecting unless you have at lest 30 pennies and at least 100 pull tabs and bottle caps. Don't get me wrong. If there is a quarter in there , I will did it too.

That's enough for now. I just want to see if this actually works.

Hey Don,

Welcome aboard. I have been dirt digging since about 1979. My first metal detector was an old Bounty Hunter BFO and I found my first V-nickel with it. I dig a lot of junk also because some of the "wierd" signals that I normally would say is trash has turned out to be real keepers. Hope to hear about some of your fun finds.

Welcome Don, Haven't been at this long myself, so I know about pennys and pull tabs, but enough of them makes a dollar, right?
