Hello to all,
I'm new to the forums, new to MD'ing, and hopefully new to the club, also.
When I say I'm new, I mean NEW!!. I haven't gotten a detector yet but I do have a Tesoro Vaquero on layaway with Mike at Woodland.
I attended the last club meeting and hope to make the next one. it is my understanding that the club President buys dinner for any new member...am I correct in this??
Once my new detector arrives I hope to be able to meet up with some of my fellow members to do some hunting.

Welcome aboard Alan. Hope to see you out diggin' soon. Lots of knowledge here on the forums so if you need help, just ask. If you want to have dinner with the Prez......well, ya gotta go to Illinois to do it!
Hope you can make the Gold Panning Outing on the 16th of July. Would be a great first outing with the club for ya.

Thanks for all the warm welcomes. I'm looking forward to getting to know you all better and to learning the hobby better by spending time out in the field with some of you.

Now that I'm thinking about it, having been born in 1939 really disqualifies me from using the word "new" to describe myself. I think I should say that I am either an "uneducated" or " ignorant" or perhaps "inexperienced" MD'er. Yeah...I think any one of those terms better describes me!!

New peep, old peep, it doesn't matter Alan. Were just glad to have you as a member of the forum and soon to be member of the club. Where in Seymour do you live? We have several members who live in Seymour and South Knoxville so you shouldn't have much trouble finding someone to go hunting with. We have a board called Who wants to go hunting so make good use of it.
