WOOP WOOP WOOP Looks like we got us a new head to head competition going folks!!!!! Attention Attention All newbie forum members. If you joined the forums in the month of July and you are a newbie to the hobby (less than a year) of metal detecting, you are invited to participate in a hunt competition. Here are the rules:

1. The find must be made during the month of August and it must have been found using a metal detector. No eyeball finds, no in a trunk finds, in change, or anything similar.
2. You must post a picture of the find and tell us about it. If it is something historical of significance then tell us about its history or use. If it was a belt buckle you could tell where u found it in general terms, which side wore it etc. Not just it was used to hold up their pants. If you cannot post a picture then contact a Administrator for assistance. There are several of them.
3.  A cache will count as 1 find.
4. You may enter more than 1 item.
5. There will be 2 categories "Older and Modern"  Older will be anything 60 years old and older. Modern will be anything less than 60 years old.
6. There will be a winner for each category but the same person cannot win both categories.
7. Prizes will be the same for both winners.

The forum Moderators will judge the finds and post the winner in this thread on Sept. 3. Winners will receive their choice of a silver dime or a 2 dollar bill.

Does it have to be a cache of coins or can it be a single coin?  Is there a limit to the amount of entries you can submit?  Might have to put off hunting for a few weeks.

Hey Mike..... no, it doesn't have to be a cache. Rather a cache or a single coin, or anything for that matter, it will count as a single entry, and you can have as many entries as we have categories if you like.

Excellent reply Scruch thanks for answering the question for me. Sorry Mark your like me too old to count any more.

Hey has anyone found anything yet? I forgot to say that all finds should be posted in this forum thread so we can keep up with them better. Or if you want to you can double post them here and in the Look what I found thread. Just remember to change the title of your post. The system will not let you make two posts with the same name.

Hey!!  Who you callin' a WOOP??!!

Maybe it is spelled Whoop!!!

What happened to the young lady that came to the meeting with you Pastorals. She might not be between the ages you mentioned but she joined the forums also so you should pair up with her to go playing in the dirt.

See I told you guys I was OLD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Now you'll believe me when I use that for an excuse. Heck I even came up with the contest rules and I can't even remember them. Someone bring me a walker, bedside potty, ad a stack or Readers Digest books. Oh I forgot bring me some fiber con and a pair of hearing aids. At this rate I won't make it another month or two.  Roll Eyes Roll Eyes Roll Eyes Roll Eyes Cry

Ok where are the posts? It is the middle of August and I haven't seen anything or heard from anyone. Sad Is this going to be another no winner contest because of lack of participation?  Roll Eyes Get to hunting folks! Smiley Smiley
