Hello everyone i am Knox Franklin and i live in the Powell area and i was at the Coker Creek Kids Day event and met a few of your guys while my daughter got to do some metal detecting that she loved (gives me a reason to get me and her a detector...hehehe...) and am interested in becoming a member of your club so i hope to see y'all at the next meeting. I use to hunt all the time but had my detector stolen and just have not replaced it Yet... i use to use a Whites 5900 DI pro. i will have to start a little less expensive than that this time. I will be picking y'alls brains on whos got the good intro detectors and which ones to avoid and so on. anyways just wanted to say hi to all.   Knox

Hello and welcome to the club and forum. Sorry to hear about losing your machine. I hope you filed it on your insurance so you can get another one. So many people have different machines and everyone swears by the one they use. Best advice is to read up on some of them and see which one you like the best and what will work for you. I use a White's MXT PRO because I mainly hunt for civil war relics and old coins. There are better machines but I like this one. You will not go wrong with the White's, Minelab, Fisher, Tesoro or the Teknetics (I hear the T2 is pretty good). Stay with a brand name. We  have two club members who are dealers. Tom for White's and Mike for Minelab, Fisher, Teknetics and Tesoro. If you have any questions just ask. We are all here to help you out.

I would reccomend a ''Whites MXT Pro''. The reason being it's very easy to use, afforable and available right now. See Tom at Tom's Detector Sales to get the best deal!!!!l
