If you did not attend last year you missed a great show. This year looks great as well. There will be a lot of vendors there including Metal Detectors, American Digger Magazine and tons of relics for sale and display. I will be working the front door from 1 to 5 on Saturday so if you are there stop by and say hello. Several club members attended last year and would love to see more this year. I hope to see you there.

Saturday was a great show. With the Bristol race and a ball game today the show on Sunday is going to be very busy. Also many are there escaping Irene. I took a lot of pictures. I saw a lot of club members there and recruited several new people to join the club as well. I took my dime and another unknown relic piece there to get information on. Not one dealer/collector knew what the relic piece is. Butch of American Digger magazine took pictures of the dime and the relic piece to put in the magazine. I will try to post some pictures later. If y'all have some free time on Sunday I would highly recommend going.

Yes I think we talked for a little bit. If you want to know more about the Diggin in Virginia hunts you have to log onto mytreasurespot.com and most of your questions can be answered there or by reading the FAQ link on there. The fall hunt is already full unless they get some cancellations. The two spring hunts will be posted on the website around January for sign ups. I am going to try to go to both if I can get the time off and afford to go to both hunts. If not I will go to one for sure. These are invitation only hunts. Once you sign up they will select who gets the invite to go. Usually those who have been to the DIV's before will get the first invite. There will be a participants list of those who get the invite first and then there will be an alternates list. When someone cancels on the participants list then those on the alternates will move up. If anyone ever gets the chance to go by all means go. This is a great event and they hunt on land that is most often off limits to metal detecting such as historical sites. The last hunt in April was at the Battle of Brandy Station which is historically preserved. Over 4000 acres and we had the entire place to hunt. Some of the fields have never been hunted before and every field had relics. Now that I know my machine better I can't wait to go back there again. Several machines will work there such as the MXT, F75, T2, GPX, Infinium, TDI and a few other. One machine that does not work well there is the Minelab E-Trac and they will be the first to tell you not to take it there. That soil is so mineralized. It took me a day and a half just to figure it out. Now I know better and can't wait for the next hunt in November. Good luck to those who sign up.
