when we find a place to hunt we do research on who live there or what when on there we been hunting a place that was in a family for over 100 year one of the first family in the town they had four store they had a logging business and a saw mill the last store close down 15 year ago it was a hardware store so this give better odd in finding more old coins we talk to people that know them there kids alway had money not a lot but when you got kids and money they alway lose some we found out that all the kids would play ball at this site the last man that live was a good man would help anyone he could so do some good back ground research on the people that live there and find out how they live what kind of work they did if they were outward going or if they stay away from ever body do a little leg work will but more old coins in your hands good  Grin Grin Grin Grin P.S do a lot of test on your detector see what a coin sound like next to iron try a slower swipe speed try different set on your discrimination to much can make some target break up see what deep target sound like some time the only thing you will get is a change in the threshold no VDI use the 3's rule size' shape and sound if it a small coin size target dig hope this help out good luck and good hunting

Excellent post Boaz. It is clear that your research is paying off for you with the quality of your finds.

THANKS Dana, we all forget sometimes just to get back to the ''basic's''. When we do, we find good stuff!

Just caught your post Dana. VERY good advice! Going out to trust Lady Luck is always a hit or miss. Nothing pays off better than good ole research......and knowing your machine inside and out! Smiley

Keep diggin'!
