Hi Guys.  Just joined up and wanted to tell you a little about myself.  I started detecting in 1976, which sort of dates me.  My main interest is civil war relics but I love to go coin and jewelry hunting as well.  When I dug my first fired three ringer, I knew there was no going back.  I was hooked.  Seems as though every time a new machine came out I had to give it a try, so about 5 years ago I decided the best way to do that was to become a part time dealer.  Since then I have a great excuse to try all the new machines.  A dealer has to have demo units, right?  Since setting up the shop, I have met and talked with a lot of great folks, including some in the forum. Unfortunately, with my full time job and the shop my free time for detecting has almost disapperaed.  Retirement can't come to soon.  I look forward to meeting you guys.  Next time you are in Ringgold, come by and see us or visit us on the web at www.northgeorgiarelics.com.  HH  Don

A big welcome there NG...... having lived most of my younger life in Chattanooga, I think of N. Georgia as my old playground. I'm sure you won't get bored on THIS forum! It does get rowdy at times.:-)))

Welcome Don. A lot of good folks here. I just recently moved to the Tri Cities area but still come back to Knoxville from time to time. Still have several sites to hunt. Now I am finding new relic sites here. Just yesterday I talked to a farmer that has been finding relics in his field. He has no machine. He and his wife find them laying on top of the ground. Last week his wife found a US plate and last year he found a sabre. All on top of the ground. He has a confederate camp in a large open field and a union camp below the hill. And the good news is that he will let me hunt there. Guess where my next hunt is going to be?  Do you go to the DIV's? I love them and I am planning on attending both hunts in the spring. I was selected for the Nov hunt but it fell on my anniversary and I had to cancel. Man that was a rough decision. Also every Monday night there is a metal detecting show online called relic roundup put on by my good friend Butch Holcombe of American Digger magazine at http://relicroundup.blogspot.com/
