hi yall ok so my first mess of a question,

i bought a bounty hunter quick draw II  to try to get started back into detecting, i just started out about 10 years ago and broke my back so i never got to learn, so now im able to move around again and id like to learn....   so i read the papers on the BH and took it out to give it a try, found a couple rusty nails and some aluminum foil Smiley  but i cant seam to get the same "tone" when i go over the coil with something, i can wave a quarter over it back and forth and i will get 2 or 3 different sounds.. then if i bury a quarter about an inch in the ground and go back and forth over it it will make different sounds AND show it from 1" to 8" deep. Sad what am i doing wrong? i did have it on all metal because i wanted to find "everything" to start out with, thanks for any and all help..... shan

Don't know much about BH.  Do you have your sensitivity turned all the way up?  I'm sure others will have more help.

but your Q down about 6 to 7" it will give better reading on dept the 1 to 8 you are seeing more ground then target and slow down your sweep speed a little or try different one some time that will get you different tone good luck and let us know what you come up with  Grin Grin Grin Grin
