Didn't go hunting today, didn't really get anything done today, just thought maybe someone else did! What did you find?

Well I managed to get out for about an hour this morning before work.  Dug my 19th silver coin of the year and if you add the coins I found at the club hunt that would make 36 silver coins for the year.  Probably not that impressive but I'm happy with it.  Would like to get 25 before the year is up.

Haven't been hunting but 1 time since the club hunt. Just haven't had the time and truthfully not much interest in going. With all the stuff going on I am quickly getting a who gives a .... attitude. I have talked to 2 members this week who haven't been out in awhile either. They are just busy with life in general. My goal for this year was to hit 4,000 coins and I haven't even found 1,000 so does that tell you anything. I think I am just burned out. I need a couple of weeks at the beach with no worries to recover and get refreshed. By the way has anyone besides me watched Chicago Ron's latest videos? I watched the new beach hunt one today d it is a really good one.

I'm an avid subscriber of Chicago Ron.  It's remarkable all of the gold he finds around there.  The trips to England are cool too.  4000 coins!!!  and I thought I was doing ok with a little over 1600.  If you ever need a hunting partner Ralph just give me a call.

I find more and more coins each year Mike. Last year I topped 3,100 and didn't get to hunt but half a year. As you get to hunt more you will soon start raking them in by the handful each time you go out. We had a club member who moved back to Arizona who claimed to find between 75 and 100 coins every time he went hunting. His name was Norm "Indy" Stiles and he has written several articles for Lost Treasure and Western Eastern Magazines. I was able to go hunting with him twice and both times he smoked me on coin finds. Not only that he was using some of the cheapest and oldest machines on the market. It just seemed he had a real nose for finding them. He and I still email and write each other and he just keeps on keeping on with his finds.

I hope to be in a better machine by this time next year.  I'm a believer in that you have to get to know your detector.  Then once you know it and it's sounds it works for you.  I've done ok with my ACE 350 and would reccommend it to others who want to get into the hobby without spending a bunch of money.  I don't get to get out and hunt as much as I would like.  In fact I have only been on one hunt that lasted over 4 hours.  Most of the time I get out for a couple of hours after work during the week.  Then there is finding places to hunt.  I've been lucky enough to come across a couple of good sites and they have produced for me.  It also makes me happy when I go to a place I know has been hunted many times and make good finds that others have missed.  Ok I'll get down off my soap box for now. Mike.... let me say something here, it's not ''always'' the machine!! I hunted with a Prizim III for two years, and found great stuff, now I hunt with a MXT pro, and still find great stuff! It's the person behind the machine who learns, advances, and makes that difference in their success! In other word's, ''It doesn't matter one hill of beans what machine you have, if you are good with it, then you're GOOD!!!
