Rare Find

About 3 weeks ago, I was hunting with Coinhunter in Jefferson County.  Supposely Union Calvary had been in the area during the battle of Mossy Creek.  We hadn't found anything that we could identify as Civil War, when I had a hunch to go up on this little rise near the fence.  It didn't take long to uncover a .56 calibre Gallager Carbine bullet.  This was especially nice because it had part of the tin case still attached.   The Gallager was carried by the Union Calvary and the bullet was probably dropped by a trooper intact.  It was apparently hit by farm machinery which broke off  the lower part of the case.  While researching the bullet I learned that the Gallager bullet had three different cases.  The most common was made of brass-tin foil and paper.  The 2nd variety and less common had a brass case.  The 3rd and rarest had a tin case.  It is unusual to find a Gallager bullet where you can identify the case variety.  I hesitated posting because of the new club rule about not identifying the finder for find of the month entries, but decided to go ahead anyway.
 
My 2nd find is a .36 calibre Colt Navy Revolver bullet.

Oops, I forgot the Gallager was the tin case variety making it the rarer find.
