Do you folks remember Indy? Here is a report from Dan Hughes following an interview with him. Indy by the way has now moved to Utah and is still hunting daily. Here is the link.

I do remember Indy Stiles.  I really enjoyed giving him rides to and from our SMARTS meetings during his brief stay here in Knoxville.  Talk about stories to tell about metal detecting, that guy never ran out of them.  What a character and what a treasure hunter.  He used old, sometimes castoff  detectors that he would refurbish.  Some would consider them junk, but they worked for him.  He would easily out hunt those of us with the expensive, sophisticated ones.  He was willing to share his knowledge of areas to hunt in just about any state, as well as his techniques for finding treasure.  He was a true vagabond of the hobby and I learned a lot in our short time together.
