Yep you can hunt all you want to there. Just be careful and always have a partner when you visit this place. It is a known hangout for folks who prefer the same sex gender of persons for their romantic involvements. Four of us hunted there about 2 months ago. We didn't find much but there is so large an area I am sure there is stuff just waiting to be found. You will just have to look in out of the way areas. Be very careful on the hillsides. There are lots of holes you can step in and break something plus those leaves are slicker than banana peels on wet concrete. Next time I hunt there I am planning on taking some rope to be on the safe side.

Yes the rope would be a good idea. Ralph and I hunted that hillside and it was very steep in some areas.

From what I have researched you can hunt the site, its a public city park, I'm sure its been pounded to death, but I'm sure there is some targets left, I hunted close the park the other day and turned up 3 bullets, one pistol, one I couldn't Id, and a very high impact mini.  anytime I find bullets I get excited.

I hunted there 8 years ago and came out with one CW bullet.  Hunting with a friend within your line of sight is advised.

I would also like to go...good first hunt for me?  Sounds like fun.  I know from reading the signs up there that they tried to come up the front but it was so steep they gave up.  So I would guess most of the stuff to be found would be in the fort and original entrance??

What about fort stanley or fort higley?  Is that private property?  wasnt there a skirmish near Fort Higley?

I think Dickerson is pretty much hunted out, but you never know. I did find a shattered
bullet back this past summer there. And Randy almost fell off the hill, too. Grin Grin Grin Grin Grin Grin Grin Grin
