I've been a rockhound for many years, but I'm new to MD'ing. I have a few questions, since my MD is supposed to arrive today...

1. Are local schools "legal" to search?
2. The Kingston Park?
3. Local ball parks?

What types of places are considered "Public Domain" for the purpose of MDing?

Thanks!

I always ask permission when I'm not sure! I just thought you kind folks could clue me in!  Wink

Thanks!

Thom,
Usually there is no problem hunting in/at local schools, city parks, county parks etc. You cannot hunt on TVA land without a permit and then there are restrictions on where you are allowed to hunt. Best idea is always ask if there is any question.
