Hey guys,
I live about 6 miles from this site, and it is on private property. The person who owns the land is a retired lawyer from Nashville. It has taken me years to find out who the owner is. I spoke with him last November about hunting and he said NO! We continued talking and after a few more minutes he told me I could hunt around the house, but no where else. He showed me where the battle took place and he gave me some history about the battle. Instead of it being a "Civil War site" he believes it was more a Revolutionary battle site and an Indian war site. There is a large monument on his property dedicated to the people who fought in this war. I was able to search this small area and found modern coins, 3 wheaties and a Lone Ranger token. My brother hunted around the house 20 years ago when the man's parents were alive. He found some silver and a musket ball. Finally the man offered to let me hunt the entire area, but only when he was there. He told me that I was the only one he would allow to hunt. So far he has not been back to give me a chance to hunt and talk with him. I think I will eventually talk him into allowing more folks to hunt with me. He has my number to call me when he returns but he has been sick. So this site is off limits to us. I am not hunting this area until he returns and tells me to go for it.

It is definitely NOT a civil war site. John Sevier fought Cherokee there a few days after returning from Kings Mountain. VERY COOL. They also had a camp site some where close by, I would like to find that too!!
