I got to hunt a little this week at a civil war site, mossey creek, in Jefferson city. Only found a half of a horse shoe, but it was awesome to be standing where several thousand men were fighting. Hope to get back there soon. Its been hunted to death, but its interesting.

It would be nice if they took more pictures back then wouldn't it? So you could see how everything looked. Maybe go back in time for about 5 minutes just to see how much the earth where you were standing has changed.

Maybe I should hit that place with my Magnex magnetometer. It will pick up a 55 gal barrel at 12 feet deep. Should pick up a cannon ball at about 2 to 4 feet. Smiley

Bring the backhoe! Smiley

My neighbor grew up thereon Mosey Creek, that's how i got to hunt it. She loaned me a book called Lilly of the valley. It did have a few pitcures and i could still recognize a couple of the hills. A caption Lilly was one of the union officers.  Her sister in law still lives up there, and she showed me a whole box of relics that she had found right in her yard. It was amazing.

It is always fun to hunt where you know good things have been found. I wish I could get a shot at a well known site. Probably wouldn't find anything, but the hunt would be great! Hope you get a chance to go back.

I did dig up the end of a spade today. Someone must have been there before me. Smiley

Keep digging.

Isn't it erie to know your standing on the same ground that thousands of men have stood before and not one is alive today. The more I read about the civil war the more I found it to be incredibly awsome and sad.
