Hello folks, My name is Bret and am very interested in digging deeper into this hobby/sport.  I live in Knoxville and I just started hunting recently with a friend's dusty metal detector and have already gotten hooked.  Hooked enough to invest in my own detector.  Tom at Tom's Metal detectors turned me onto this website so I thought I might be able to hook up with some folks with my new interests.  I'm interested in Civil War hunting and hunting for older coins, but the occasional quarter from the park always makes it exciting as well.  Thanks a lot...

Welcome Bret. This hobby is very addicting. Just ask my wife. Check this website often as there are a lot of updates on here. I am planning on another hunt where I invite others to help hunt some parks that I find. The last time we did this we packed our lunch and had a picnic as well. It was a lot of fun and I can't wait to do it again. The park I am planning on having this was where I found a mercury and rosie dime, wheat penny and buffalo nickel last week. I am just waiting on us getting some rain to make the digging a little easier. I hope that you make it to our meeting this coming Monday night. Again welcome aboard.

Thanks for the welcoming... I hit one of the parks two days ago and it was like digging in cement,  except around the play gym, where i turned up a dime.  oh well...  let it rain.  my grass needs it too.
