I am setting a goal of 100 pieces of silver for this year. So far I have about 20 and the last four hunts have yielded silver. I am going to try to keep my string going this weekend. Also going to set a goal of 100 bullets and 10 buttons. I think I have about 20 bullets and 3 buttons now. I see that people on Tnet do very well when they set a goal.

Good idea, Randy! I'll have to come up with one for myself.

i guess that goals in this hunting is ok, but when you go out and are looking for say five silver coins and come up empty, that to me would discourage me to the point of not wanting to hunt. That is just my opinion. If I go out to a site and find a couple of silvers, that is great and if I do not find any, then that is ok also. Roll Eyes

I don't get discouraged when I go hunting and come up empty. I enjoy the research and the hunting and spending time hunting with friends. I thought by setting a goal it might give me the drive to spend more time on sites that have the opportunity to produce some good finds than just modern stuff. Heck I'm happy if I only find one wheat penny. And this may not be for everybody but I thought I would try something different.

My goal is too finish the kids house, then take a month long vacation out to Texas and Arizona to visit the son, my brother and sister and spend a couple of weeks at a beach some where. While at the beach and the other places I fully intend to hunt every day that I am able. Hopefully I will find some silver and gold to help pay for the trip Lol. Oh and I also intend to go over and visit Mike, Maggie, and Samantha in N.C. and go hunting there.

My goal is to remember to ask permission from the wife before I spend most of a day hunting.  It seems to go over much better that way....  Undecided
