Ten feet from the top of those steps I found my very first 3 ringer 17 years ago. Since then the only thing I have found there is clad, poison ivy, and barb wire pieces along with a bunch of those unsavory characters Gabe wrote about. It is still a beautiful park. When I was in high school I was a grounds keeper for the City of Knoxville and this was one on my areas. I spent a lot of hours working there clearing land, cutting trees, and general cleanup of the areas. It was a totally different park back in the late 60s.
