Hello everyone, my name is Thom Tapp. I have been into rockhounding for many years, as well as fossil hunting. I am 59 years old and I am the pastor of Oral Baptist Church in Lenoir City TN. I have lived in Kingston for 14 years now, and in Harriman since 1968. I just got a metal detector on eBay and want to be involved with others who have the same interest. I have a sister in Harriman who has a White's metal detector, and she and her husband have found MANY Civil War items. I look forward to learning all about metal detecting!!

Welcome to this addicting hobby. I hope you can make it to the club meeting tomorrow night. We have a great time there. And the food is pretty good as well.

Welcome Pastor, my great great grandfather was a baptist preacher in Loudon County Gilford Cottrell was his name. Are there any records or anyway I could find out all the places where he could have preached?

Welcome to the forum.

If he was a Southern Baptist, the Loudon County Baptist Association could help you find the church. They have records of all the churches in Loudon. Otherwise, it would be pretty hard to find out. You'd have to ask each individual church. The office phone number for the Loudon County Baptist Association is: (865) 986-2292 and Traci Kollock is the one you would want to talk to.

Hope this helps!
